Meet our first little boy. We named him Buddy. He is 2 years old. We got him on April 24, 2007. He will be HoneyBear's new boyfriend. HB is about 3 years old. Way past breeding age. Thought it would be nice to give HB a little moonlight romance. He is currently in isolation at the moment. We want to be sure he is ok. Isn't he beautiful? His gerbil color is a schimmel. We are planning on using the split cage. Hopefully it will not take too long. I was told that schimmels start out a little darker orange and it fades over time. At last weigh in on May 16 ,2007, Buddy weghed 95 grams and HB weighed about 75 grams. Buddy tied for second place in the Mongolian Gerbil Website Forum's Virtual Show for "Other" on 22 June 2007. Buddy did extremely well in the 2007 AGS Virtual Gerbil Show. He took 3rd place. I am so proud of him. Buddy has gained lots of weight since May. He is now close to 100 grams! His girlfriend Honeybear is not that far behind.
